Dallas, TX–West End District: Restaurants
When staying or dining in the West End district in downtown Dallas, there are two places to consider. One is kid friendly, the other is wallet challenging. Both were a good experience.
One of the best filets I ever ate may have been the Buffalo Filet at the Y.O. Steakhouse. It'll set you back over $40. But if you are a steak lover, it's a fine piece of meat. Another Whoo Baby!
Now, for a good restaurant that's kid friendly and not quite so pricey, try the Hoffbrau. I had stuffed Quail. It was very nice. The kids had standard burgers and fries.

Toronto, Ontario & Dallas, Texas: Restaurants
For steaks in Toronto or in Dallas, try a restaurant called The Keg. It's mid to higher end in price, and definitely top end in taste. It's a good place for a fine meal. In Dallas it's located not far from the airport. In Toronto.....well, I've been there, but I can't tell you how to find it. So you are on your own.

Chicago: Restaurants
Two of my favorite places to eat in Chicago are Gino's Pizza and The Capital Grill.
My buddy D.W. Cole first took me to Gino's back in about 1991. Downtown, across from the offices of the Archdiocese, up a set of stairs you entered a noisy place where every inch of wall was covered with graffiti---mostly people's names. Since then, everytime I have guests in Chicago I make sure I take them to Gino's.
Now, grab your pocketbook for this one. The Capital Grill in Chicago. Whoo Baby! Now that's a steak! The taste is only exceeded by the price. It's worth it! But just be prepared for the price. This is one that you want to save for a special occasion.

Cincinnati, OH: Restaurants
Montgomery Inn BBQ is one of my favorite spots to eat in Cincy. It's awesome. (And, they serve Graeter's Ice Cream.) It's a middle to higher end place that I think you'll find absolutely delightful to your palate.

Kentucky & Ohio: Ice Cream
OK, I live in the land of Andy's, and Andy's is gooooddddddd stuff! BUT, I've got friends in Columbus, OH, Dayton, OH, and Louisville/Lexington, KY who always take me to Graeter's Ice Cream. I'm telling you, it is worth the trip!!!!! I particularly like the Raspberry Chocolate Chunk. Whoo baby! My buddy Jim emailed me a picture of his Graeters today............that was a sin on his part---causing his brother to stumble by enticing me to covet and to lust.
Now, you can be sophisticated and go do your own thing, or, you can pay attention and do what's smart. Graeter's is smart!
